The Lord Holy Spirit moves the battle forward:
The Lord Holy Spirit is on a mission, and we are in a battle fighting alongside our Lord, whether we realize it or not.
Ephesians 6:12 says: We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world.
Who are these forces, authorities, and powers in the spiritual world?
Ephesians 2:1-2 NKJV
[1] And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, [2] in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.
The evil forces , authorities and powers are the disobedient fallen angels ,the devil and the demons.They work among the sons of disobedience.
They try to control the states , provinces and nations and resisting the kingdom of God and His children and preventing the gospel from being preached.
Daniel 10:13 NKJV
[13] But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.
When the angel of God came to deliver God’s message to Daniel,He was resisted by the demon of authority called the prince of Persia .
These demonic forces either resist the angels of God directly from delivering an important message or hinder answers to critical prayer points which, if delivered, could positively affect the growth or enlargement of the church or believers in that particular country.
These demonic forces also work through human authorities, state or national leadership, to delay righteous judgment or to enact laws affecting God’s people. In this way, the Kingdom of God and His purposes are temporarily hindered from being executed in the natural world, and the people of God suffer.
Daniel 6:7-9 CEV
[7] All of your officials, leaders, advisors, and governors agree that you should make a law forbidding anyone to pray to any god or human except you for the next 30 days. Everyone who disobeys this law must be thrown into a pit of lions. [8] Order this to be written and then sign it, so it cannot be changed, just as no written law of the Medes and Persians can be changed.” [9] So King Darius made the law and had it written down.
Here we see evil men full of jealousy toward Daniel, subtly influencing the king to write a law, direct opposite to God ‘s commandments.
Deuteronomy 5:6-9 CEV
[6] I am the Lord your God, the one who brought you out of Egypt where you were slaves. [7] Do not worship any god except me. [8] Do not make idols that look like anything in the sky or on earth or in the ocean under the earth. [9] Don’t bow down and worship idols. I am the Lord your God, and I demand all your love. If you reject me and worship idols, I will punish your families for three or four generations.
satan also works through business the fraternity to resist the advancement of the gospel of Christ Jesus our Lord.
Acts 19:24-27 NKJV
[24] For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Diana, brought no small profit to the craftsmen. [25] He called them together with the workers of similar occupation, and said: “Men, you know that we have our prosperity by this trade. [26] Moreover you see and hear that not only at Ephesus, but throughout almost all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are not gods which are made with hands. [27] So not only is this trade of ours in danger of falling into disrepute, but also the temple of the great goddess Diana may be despised and her magnificence destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worship.
satan and his demons resist the preaching of the gospel through the sons of disobedience.
We see in the book of acts when Stephen was witnessing Christ , the devil used Saul to instigate the killing of Stephen .
Acts 8:1 NKJV
[1] Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
We hear this from Paul ‘s own words
Acts 26:10-11 NKJV
[10] This I also did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them. [11] And I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.
satan creates trouble for God’s children, he brings confusion and disharmony among the Church and believers.
satan attacks and steals God’s sheep through false prophets and teachers.
Acts 13:6-11 CEV
[6] Barnabas and Saul went all the way to the city of Paphos on the other end of the island, where they met a Jewish man named Bar-Jesus. He practiced witchcraft and was a false prophet. [7] He also worked for Sergius Paulus, who was very smart and was the governor of the island. Sergius Paulus wanted to hear God’s message, and he sent for Barnabas and Saul. [8] But Bar-Jesus, whose other name was Elymas, was against them. He even tried to keep the governor from having faith in the Lord. [9] Then Saul, better known as Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit. He looked straight at Elymas [10] and said, “You son of the devil! You are a liar, a crook, and an enemy of everything that is right. When will you stop speaking against the true ways of the Lord? [11] The Lord is going to punish you by making you completely blind for a while.” Suddenly the man’s eyes were covered by a dark mist, and he went around trying to get someone to lead him by the hand.
2 Corinthians 11:14-15 CEV
[14] And it is no wonder. Even Satan tries to make himself look like an angel of light. [15] So why does it seem strange for Satan’s servants to pretend to do what is right? Someday they will get exactly what they deserve.
These evil forces captivate the heart and minds of unbelievers who live in the lust of their flesh , fulfilling the desires of their flesh and their minds.
Satan works his ways among the selfish, men and women, deceiving them and leading them into new forms of sinful indulgence, destroying lives.
satan enters through our evil desires,the lust of the eyes, which is never satisfied . the lust of the flesh which is always looking out for immediate gratifications even if it is against God’s commandments; and the pride of life , possessions we think we earned by ourselves.
We were one among them. By nature, we were children of wrath, dead in our transgressions and sins.
