Lesson 2:

  The Peril of not knowing God as we should know Him.

Job 42:3-6 CEV
[3]  You asked why I talk so much when I know so little. I have talked about things that are far beyond my understanding. [4]  You told me to listen and answer your questions. [5] I heard about you from others; now I have seen you with my own eyes. [6] That’s why I hate myself and sit here in dust and ashes to show my sorrow.

Generally,we would not agree that we knew God or His ways so little. I hope most of us saved for decades won’t, ,because we have now ‘ The word of God , ‘the Holy Spirit ‘and as well a million preachers across all media platforms, bombarding with the knowledge of God everyday 24 × 7.

what if God himself appears tonight and says ” you have not known me or my ways as you are supposed to know.?

Can we say Lord you haven’t revealed yourself to me completely?

God is eternal past to eternal future.He is the Alpha and the Omega , the beginning and the end.Deeper than any depth ,far far beyond human understanding.

But, In spite of all that, He never stops revealing Himself to mankind.

Psalms 19:1-4 CEV
[1] The heavens keep telling the wonders of God, and the skies declare what he has done. [2] Each day informs the following day; each night announces to the next. [3] They don’t speak a word, and there is never the sound of a voice. [4]  Yet their message reaches all the earth, and it travels around the world. In the heavens a tent is set up for the sun.

What are all these , the heavens ,the skies? revealing to the world, about God? 

What did each day inform the following day and each night announces the following night?

Luke 10:18 NKJV
[18] And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

When satan fell,The Lord knew, also  what satan would do the next and subsequent steps he takes.

God counselled among themselves. Triune God heads of God the Father ,God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

And Then..the Word became flesh.

John 1:14 NKJV
[14] And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Have you seen people willing to take the bullet for others sake.

There may be few for a variety of reasons, guarding countries , elites etc .

But for Lord God the life giver himself?
To choose to become like his creation and suffer to only die?

Even though, He knew the preciousness of life,even though he could appreciate life the most, even though knowing its fullest value , could only become flesh for the only purpose of dying on the cross.? And, it is not a simple death. He has to die carrying the sins of the whole world.

John 1:29 NKJV
[29] The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Why should he do so?

What could be the motivation behind this.?

Because “God is love” and He loves us to Himself.

That’s the motivation.Period.

God the Father loved us,

John 3:16 NKJV
[16] For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Jesus the son loved us ..

John 15:13-14 NKJV
[13] Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. [14] You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

Holy Spirit loved us..

Romans 5:5 CEV
[5] that will never disappoint us. All of this happens because God has given us the Holy Spirit, who fills our hearts with his love.

God redeemed back His beloved mankind to Himself through the victory Jesus claimed on the cross.

I John 4:7-11 NKJV
[7] Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. [8] He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. [9] In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. [10] In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. [11] Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Now,  we could, but only agree that we have only little learning about God and need more of God in our lives , more of His Love in our hearts and more of His purpose filled with grace in our works.

So shall we also testify with our lives  to the words of John!

I John 4:17 NKJV
If we truly love others and live as Christ did in this world, we won’t be worried about the day of judgment. Amen.
